Bio: Brandyn Churchill is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Public Administration & Policy at American University, an NBER Faculty Research Fellow, and an IZA Research Affiliate. He earned his PhD in Economics from Vanderbilt University in 2021.

Professor Churchill’s research examines how public policies and social comparisons shape self-image and weight-related behaviors. He also has work studying how information and cost affect preventive care utilization, including vaccination and cancer screening. Professor Churchill’s work has appeared in leading peer-reviewed journals, including Journal of Health Economics, Journal of Human Resources, and Journal of Policy Analysis and Management, and his research is supported by the National Institutes of Health.
