Elizabeth Crowe is a Research Associate at the Urban Institute, where her research focuses on the role of government programs and private organizations in supporting low-income families in the U.S. Topics includes cash and in-kind assistance programs, the U.S. social safety net, poverty, inequality, and social policy. Crowe received her Ph.D. in Public Administration and Policy from the School of Public Affairs at American University in 2014. She received her Master of Arts from the Department of Economics at American University in 2010. Crowe is the recipient of the 2013 Vincenza and W. Donald Bowles Endowment Award for the Study of Productivity, Income and Poverty in the United States.
