Thomas W. Merrill is Associate Professor in the Department of Government and Associate Director of the Political Theory Institute. His book, David Hume and the Politics of Enlightenment (Cambridge, 2015) won the Delba Winthrop Prize for Best Recent Work in Political Philosophy. He is also the co-editor of two edited volumes, Human Dignity and Bioethics (Notre Dame, 2009), with Edmund Pellegrino and Adam Schulman, and Apples of Gold in Pictures of Silver: Honoring the Work of Leon R. Kass (Lexington, 2011), with Yuval Levin and Adam Schulman, as well as articles in Review of Politics, Polity, and Perspectives on Political Science.
