Bio
Zephi Francis is a Research Specialist at American University's Justice Programs Office (JPO). His research interests include racial and ethnic disparities in the criminal justice system, alternatives to mass incarceration, drug and alcohol use, and implementing evidence-based practices. At JPO, Zephi is part of the National Drug Court Resource Center – an initiative charged with providing drug court professionals with resources to enable their programs to operate as effectively as possible. He also manages the Annual Drug Court Surveys, which collect information on drug courts’ counts, operations, and target populations. Zephi previously worked as a Research Associate at George Mason University (GMU). While at GMU, he conducted research on prisoner re-entry.
