The Key Executive Leadership MPA Program is proud to announce the selection of Mia Beers as the 2009 recipient of the Donald G. Zauderer Scholarship.

A member of Key cohort 37, Beers is a humanitarian policy advisor with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Office of U.S. Foreign Disaster Assistance. Beers’ coworkers have praised her ability to take the lead in high-stress, high-stakes situations. She says, “While I may be recognized as a good manager, I want to become an extraordinary leader--one who inspires people to do their best and be willing to take more risks.”

The scholarship award, established through the generosity of Key alumni and friends in honor of Key co-founder and professor emeritus Donald G. Zauderer, partially offsets the tuition of a Key student who has demonstrated great leadership ability and exceptional academic performance in the program and who is not receiving financial support from their employer towards the completion of their degree. Beers will be officially recognized at the Key Executive Leadership Programs Alumni event in October.
