Greetings from Rob Johnson

Alumni Board President Rob Johnson on campus

For those of you who were able to return to campus last week for All-American Weekend, thank you, and I hope you enjoyed your time on campus as much as I did. This year's events were exceptional, including the annual Alumni Awards Dinner and Ceremony, a slate of incredible AU Ed Talks hosted by fascinating professors, and a panel of alumni changemakers, who showed us how paths begun at AU lead to lives of incredible impact. Make sure to check out photos of the festivities.

All-American Weekend is also a time to celebrate with students and families, and that included this year's Alumni Association Scholarship winner, legacy student Judah Featherman. Please take time to learn about Judah's path to AU.

This month's Alumni Update reiterates very exciting news from campus. A profile of new Board of Trustees leaders shows our commitment to access and equity, and announcements about two recent gifts highlight what we already know - that AU is poised to do even greater things in the future.

Other buzz around campus includes news that President Burwell, along with six local alumnae were recently named to Washingtonian magazine's list of the most powerful women in Washington. These incredible changemaking alumnae include DC Mayor Muriel Bowser, SPA/MPP ‘00, Washington Nationals principal owner Debra Lerner Cohen, CAS/BA '77, Strathmore president Monica Jeffries Hazangeles, CAS/MA ‘96, Adeft Capital founder and CEO Carol Melton, WCL/JD '81, Univision journalist Janet Rodriguez, SOC/BA ‘06, and Arena Stage artistic director Molly Smith, CAS/MA '76. See the full list here.

As always, please reach out if you are interested in getting more engaged with AU! There are countless ways to be involved.
