The Metropolitan Policy Center participated in a research partnership with the Center for Regional Analysis at George Mason University (GMU) and INFORUM at the University of Maryland. This initiative, The Roadmap for the Washington Region's Economic Future, investigated aspects of the Washington area's regional economy. A primary goal of the initiative included delivery of sound state and local policy recommendations that will help drive sustainable regional economic growth. We thank Steve Fuller at GMU for spearheading this important project.
The Roadmap Initiative
The Roadmap research team identified the private-sector industries best positioned for growth in our region based on our competitive advantages, and interviewed over 30 of the region's top business leaders to better understand what it'll take to maximize the potential growth of these industries in Greater Washington over the next decade.
