Summer Program Admissions

Admissions & Financial Aid

American University’s Graduate Gateway Program Summer Intensive has rolling admissions, which means you can submit an application anytime up to the deadline. Once an application is submitted, we will review it and notify you of our decision within a couple weeks. 

Graduate Gateway is a selective academic and experiential learning program. Due to the limited number of spaces, candidates who receive an admission offer have approximately 3 weeks to place a deposit to join the program.

Summer 2015 Application Deadlines

Priority Application Deadline- March 20, 2015

Final Application Deadline- May 1, 2015

How to Apply

In addition to the online application, applicants must submit either electronically or via mail:

  • Undergraduate transcript(s) and graduate transcript(s) if applicable (official copies are required from any institution outside the U.S.)
  • Professional Resume
  • Personal Statement- discussing your interest in the Graduate Gateway Program and your short-term and long-term professional goals. (300 to 500 words)
  • Letter of Recommendation from either a professional or academic reference
  • Optional second letter of recommendation from either a professional or academic reference
