Students in the Washington Semester Summer Internship Program are housed in American University's Housing. The university is located about a half a mile from the Tenleytown-AU Metro Stop on the Red Line. The University Shuttle provides transportation between campus and the Metro.
Signing Up for Housing
A link to the online housing application will be sent to you via e-mail by the Washington Semester Program Office. Once you have signed up for University housing, you are committed to living in the residence halls for the period noted. To withdraw without a late charge, a letter must be received in the Housing and Dining Programs Office by April 15th for the Summer semester.
Personal Property Insurance
Check with your parents to see if any or all of your possessions are covered by their homeowner's insurance plan. Many plans cover student possessions while at school. While we certainly hope that it doesn't happen to you, possessions sometimes are stolen, lost or destroyed. The university is not responsible for loss of personal property.
Arriving On Campus
Washington Semester Summer Internship Students living in university housing may move-in on date TBD. All interns should plan to attend a mandatory program orientation as well (date TBD).
You will receive additional arrival information via the Accepted Students Portal.
