Tennessee

Tennessee is a 2-day exam (UBE effective February 2019) with two 90-minute Multistate Performance Test question, six 30-minute Multistate Essay Exam questions, and 200 multiple-choice Multistate Bar Exam questions.

MBE Subjects: Constitutional Law, Contracts/Sales, Criminal Law/Procedure, Evidence, Federal Civil Procedure, Real Property, Torts.

MEE Essay Subjects: Business Associations (Agency and Partnership; Corporations and Limited Liability Companies), Conflict of Laws, Family Law, Trusts and Estates (Decedents' Estates; Trusts and Future Interests), Article 9 (Secured Transactions) of the Uniform Commercial Code plus all MBE subjects.

Multistate Performance Test: "Closed universe" practical questions using instructions, factual data, cases, statutes and other reference material supplied by examiners.

MPRE: A scaled score of 82 is required for admission.

Scoring: The Tennessee Supreme Court will determine the minimum passing score for the UBE. As soon as additional information regarding scoring the Tennessee Law Course and applications is available it will be posted to www.tnble.org. 

Filing Deadlines: The deadline for applying to the February 2020 Bar Exam is December 20. The deadline for applying to the July 2020 Bar Exam is May 20. The process for submitting an application for admission by exam MUST completed online at synergy.tnble.come.
