Advocacy Program

Students in Action

Our talented students have won dozens of individual awards, 16 regional titles, and 20 national and international trial, appellate, alternative dispute resolution, and transactional law competitions.

Student competitors collectively log hundreds of hours during weekly and weekend practices, where they are coached by legal practitioners from diverse career paths and varied experiences. Honor societies conduct boot camps, workshops, trainings, and intra-competitions to ensure that student competitors are properly prepared for their respective competition season.

The Moot Court Honor Society is essential to the success of both the Burton D. Wechsler First Amendment Moot Court Competition and the Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition Mid-Atlantic Regional Qualifying Rounds. Meanwhile, the Mock Trial Honor Society plays a large role in the administration of the Capitol City Challenge and the National Trial Competition regional tournament hosted on campus.
