Adjunct Associate Law Professor, Joshua Hurwitz, is a Washington lawyer and graduate of WCL. Josh is the Deputy Director of the Dispute Resolution Division within the Office of Administrative Law Judges and Dispute Resolution at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). Josh joined FERC in 2008 as an Attorney Advisor working in the Office of Administrative Litigation. During his tenure at FERC, Josh has successfully litigated rate cases and other energy matters including the Strategic Reconfiguration of the Trans Alaska Pipeline System (TAPS) resulting in a $500 million dollar prudence disallowance.
Josh has mediated hundreds of complex energy-related disputes involving interconnection agreements, electric markets and rates, gas pipeline certificate issues, contracts, land use and environmental compliance. In his current role Josh manages matters requiring Dispute Resolution Division involvement at the FERC. In 2016, Josh was named an “ADR Champion” by the National Law Journal.
