Mark Gross retired in 2016 from the position of Deputy Chief in the Appellate Section in the Civil Rights Division at the U.S. Department of Justice,, after working there for over 40 years. He wrote and reviewed briefs filed in the United States Courts of Appeals and in the United States Supreme Court, and presented oral argument in nearly all of the courts of appeals. He was also the Complaint Adjudication Officer for the Department of Justice, and in that position issued the final decisions for the Department of Justice on administrative claims of employment discrimination.
Since his retirement Mr. Gross has been consulting with private attorneys filing cases under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act.
