From December 4-8, 2017, Judge Messitte will be a guest of the Law School of the University of São Paulo, where he will participate in a number of programs:
- On December 4-5, a panel on “Plea Bargaining in the U.S., Particularly Corporate Plea Bargaining,” with President/Minister of Brazil’s Supreme Federal Tribunal Cármen Lúcia;
- On December 6, a speech at the Instituto de Direito Processual (IBDP) on a topic to be determined (probably Precedents);
- On December 7-8, a speech at the Associacão dos Advogados de São Paulo on a topic to be determined (probably Case Management);
- On December 8, together with the Minister of the Superior Tribunal of Justice Ricardo Cueva, a panel on “Plea Bargaining in the U.S., Particularly Corporate Plea Agreements;”
- On December 11-12, a speech to an International Congress on Federal Justice sponsored by the Federal Judiciary of the State of Ceará in Fortaleza. The topic will be “Current Trends in the U.S. Federal Judiciary.”
