Elizabeth Abi-Mershed

Elizabeth Abi-Mershed served as Assistant Executive Secretary of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR), Organization of American States (OAS) from 2007-2018. She coordinated the work of the legal teams for individual petitions, cases and precautionary measures, as well as those assigned to country-based monitoring and thematic approaches.  She provided direct support for the work of the Rapporteurship on the Rights of Women as from its establishment in 1994. She is a consultant and teaches about human rights as an adjunct professor at the Washington College of Law.  JD (Washington College of Law) LL.M. (Georgetown).
