Sharon Metcalf
Senior Director of Strategic Partnerships & Programs
School of Communication
- Sharon Metcalf blends a strong background in communications with strategic partnerships in media and education. She gained journalistic insight from several perspectives, working in Washington DC for two network news bureaus – ABC World News and NBC News -- and The White House. Combining that with an interest in education, Sharon went on to become director of special projects at NCTA’s Education Foundation and director of professional development for Discovery Education. Along the way, she taught distance learning for educators at Johns Hopkins University; consulted for US Green Building Council to launch their education portal, Greenbuild365; and founded Big Sisters of the Washington Metropolitan Area.
