How to Apply
Students applying for the Community of Scholars program must submit an application, unofficial high school transcript, a teacher/recommendation form, and a $250 nonrefundable deposit* by May 1, 2016. We cannot confirm placement until all materials have been received. Deposit checks should be written out to American University.
Please complete the online application here: Community of Scholars 2016 Application. Please note that the application includes a question requiring a 2- to 3-paragraph response. You may wish to compose your response before beginning the application.
The recommendation form is found here: Teacher/Counselor Recommendation Form. Please have your teacher or counselor complete and return this form to you in a sealed envelope. Your teacher or counselor may also email the recommendation form to email@example.com
