Bio
Dawn Leijon has over 20 years of marketing and strategy experience, working in small business, classic packaged goods, the military, consumer and business-to-business environments. Dawn spent six years at Kraft Foods, building a strong foundation in brand management, strategic planning, consumer and trade promotions, advertising and new product development. After moving to Washington D.C., Dawn became Marketing Director for the US Army, planning and overseeing $200 million in recruiting advertising and promotions.

Dawn went on to work for the Army Reserve in Strategic Communications then returned to the private sector as the Director of Consumer Segment Marketing for a student loan company. From there, she evolved with the company to conceive and develop a web service helping high school students and families find the right college fit, then moved on to a B2B role at CoStar, a leader in commercial real estate information.

In June 2015, Dawn was recruited as an Executive in Residence at American University's Kogod School of Business and appointed Director of the Kogod Millennial Index.

Dawn was an Adjunct Professor at Georgetown University from 2002 to 2013, teaching marketing and new business development classes to undergraduate and graduate students. She currently teaches in the MBA programs at American University and Virginia Tech.
