Bio
As CTRL's Online Learning Trainer and Curriculum Designer, Laura manages the university-wide online instruction certification program. She is responsible for teaching the pedagogical and technological aspects of online learning to faculty and students. Prior to starting at American University, Laura worked for Penn State’s Education Technology Services and Institute for the Arts & Humanities as well as WeightWatchers.com. She co-founded and organized Blue Out Penn State in fall 2011, which raised over $126,000 for child abuse prevention charities through social media and has since become a yearly tradition. In her free time, she blogs for the Huffington Post and enjoys painting, photography, trivia games, and eating far too much pizza.
