Garba Night
The Hindu Students Association will host Garba Night, a cultural celebration in honor of Navratri, a Hindu festival observed over nine nights. Garba is a traditional folk dance from the state of Gujarat, India, performed in circles as an expression of community and celebration. The event is intended to share this tradition with the AU community, foster cultural understanding, and provide an inclusive social space for students of all backgrounds.
The program will include a brief introduction to the significance of Navratri and Garba, a beginner-friendly instruction on basic steps, and open group dancing with music. No prior experience is necessary, and the event is open to all AU students regardless of religious affiliation.
