A book signing and talk by Georgetown Art Professor B.G. Muhn. Free and open to all, no RSVP required.

– The first publication of its kind on chosonhwa, which is the North Korean moniker for traditional ink wash painting, and the country’s primary artform and steadfast vehicle for Socialist Realism


– Entirely based on first-hand, on-site research conducted on the ground in Pyongyang during nine trips over the span of six years


– Examines cultural, historical and political contexts, and features in-depth visual analysis of North Korean chosonhwa.
