Bio
Dr. S. Beth Newman Ooi teaches writing and literature in Washington, DC. Her research interests center on writing and language in multilingual and multi-scripted early medieval England, including runic writing, inscribed objects, and literary representations of and treatments of writing. Textual scholarship and theory are the foundation of her methodological approach, which is also informed by methods of linguistics, history, literary close reading, and material culture studies.
