Bio
Diego Rivera is in his second year of the Ph.D. program in Economics. He graduate with honors from Georgia State University, where he also did research funded by the NSF. His academic interests are mainly related with institutions and economic growth, corruption, public choice, governance, behavioral economics, social norms and irrational decision making. Diego is from Santiago, Chile, but has lived in Brazil, Argentina, Singapore among other countries. During 2005 he was in charge of the College Vote Campaign for presidential candidate, and current president of Chile, Sebastian Piñera. The year after that, he served as political coordinator for Universidad Adolfo Ibañez's Student Goverment, and represented student's interests in educational reform. During his Ph.D. program, Diego has focused on prostitution consumption, sexual education, risky decision making and irrationality.
He is currently working on research focused on Chile's economic performance and political factors, concentrating on institutions and privatization reforms.
