- Joeva Rock currently holds joint positions as a Visiting Research Scholar at the University of San Francisco and an Adjunct Professorial Lecturer in the Department of Anthropology at American University. Her research focuses on international development aid, agricultural change, and statecraft in West Africa. A public anthropologist by training, Joeva is a contributor to the blog Africa is a Country, and her work has been featured in Culture, Agriculture, Food and Environment; Global Bioethics; The Nation; and Foreign Policy in Focus. Her research has been funded by the Wenner-Gren Foundation, the Fulbright-Hays Program, and Explorers Club-DC. Joeva holds a PhD in Anthropology from American University and was previously a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Nutrition and Food Studies at New York University.
