Bio
James Vann is an adjunct professorial lecturer in the Kogod School of Business at American University. Dr. Vann’s research and teaching interests are in the areas of organizational behavior, technology and society, and the future of work.

Dr. Vann was a 1981 Presidential Management Intern and spent his early career in the US Federal Government, including positions with the Department of Defense Inspector General and Department of Education. He also has over thirty years’ experience in the private sector: In government contracting and compliance with Contel Corporation and GTE Spacenet; as a corporate ethics officer for UK-based Lucas Industries, and as a Principal Economic and Business Analyst with The MITRE Corporation. He has lectured abroad on the ethical implications of artificial intelligence and has published in the global journal Public Organization Review.
