KAYLIN BREWER - NODA INTERN

Hello Friends! My name is Kaylin Brewer (she/her/hers) and I will be serving as a graduate assistant on the Orientation Team this summer. I am currently a graduate student at the University of Maryland - College Park studying higher education and student affairs. I had such a great time in college that I decided to make a career out of helping students explore the multiplicity of benefits offered at our universities. Prior to graduate school, I completed my undergraduate degree at The Ohio State University. I am very much a Midwestern girl from Indiana who loves to discover new restaurants and cupcake shops in the D.C. metro area. I look forward to meeting you all this summer and chatting with you about D.C.'s many hidden gems!

Cory Kirby - NODA Intern

Cory Kirby (He, Him, His). I am a first year graduate student at Bowling Green State University (BGSU) in northwest Ohio. I am currently pursuing a masters in the College Student Personnel (CSP) program. I work in the BGSU Career Center as a part of the experiential learning component of the CSP program. My career goal after earning my masters is to be an Academic Advisor for Student-Athletes. Additionally, I graduated from BGSU in 2014 with a degree in Education, Adolescent Young Adult (AYA) Integrated Social Studies. I am from Tipp City, Ohio, located around southwest Ohio (20 minutes from Dayton, 1 hour from Cincinnati). I really enjoy travelling; have been coast to coast in the United States. Activities I enjoy during my free time is working out, playing sports, hanging out with friends, and playing corn hole.

Fernando Perez - NODA Intern 

Hi! My name is Fernando and I am pursuing my Master’s Degree in Higher Education at Loyola University Chicago. I am originally from Northern California, where I attended University of the Pacific and received my B.S. in Business Administration and Human Resources. While at Pacific, I was an orientation leader for three years and orientation manager my senior year. My favorite part of working in orientation is welcoming incoming students to their home away from home.

Hello! My name is Chyanna and my pronouns are she, her, and hers. I am a rising Junior at AU studying Business Administration specializing in Marketing with a minor in Graphic Design. I’m from Philadelphia, but DC has quickly become one of my favorite places. In my time at AU, I have participated in many activities, but being an Orientation Leader was definitely one of the best. My favorite part of AU is the community of people that I’ve found here. That’s why I want to be a part of a team that welcome the new Eagles home to AU!

Hi, my name is Saira (she/her/hers) and I am a rising Junior from California, at American University studying Musical Theatre and Computer Science. I am thrilled to be a part of Orientation for another summer as an Orientation Chair. I think Eagle Summit is such an integral part of a student’s transition into college, and that’s why I love working for Orientation and am excited to help with that process in a greater capacity. Once an Eagle, always an Eagle!

Hi everyone! My name is Felicia (she/her/hers) and I’m a rising Senior here at AU studying Public Health and International Studies. Being an Orientation Leader was truly the best thing I could have done during my college career. I had such a positive experience that I wanted to be able to shape the program and the staff myself! Orientation helped me become more connected to AU than ever before and I am so grateful to have the opportunity to play an even bigger role this year. I can’t wait for all of the new Eagles to fly home! See you all this summer!

My favorite dessert in the world is ICE CREAM and one of my favorite things about DC is that there’s always something new to discover about the city. In fact, one of my goals here in DC is to visit every single embassy there is!

I am Sophia Casabonne, a rising sophomore in the American University School of International Service pursuing a degree in international studies with a concentration in Russia and Eastern Europe. In my free time I compete on the AU Model United Nations team, am a student ambassador through the AU admissions office, and a member of Phi Mu fraternity.
