Bio
Shalala Valiyeva is an award-winning legal expert whose passion for trade and investment law is highlighted through her professional and academic accolades. Having already published two books on the rule of law and legal guidance as one of the youngest author and editor, Shalala is currently pursuing a rigorous academic journey culminating in the Doctor of Juridical Science (SJD) degree at American University Washington College of Law.

Academically, Shalala's research attempts to identify the causes of the United States, the European Union and other related countries in  semiconductor legislation and policy, their impact on the global semiconductor supply chain, export  controls regulations, foreign investment and discuss the rule of international law. The issue of semiconductor manufacturing and value chains will be considered in the broader context of global trends in international economic relations and economic security.

Professionally, Shalala's expertise in international trade and investment has often been promoted and integrated in various organizations’ long-term strategies. At the American University Washington College of Law, initially, she built key global partnerships within the International Legal & Comparative Studies Program as an Adjunct Faculty Member and Visiting Scholar In-Residence and presently, she is supporting global legal education as the Project Management Consultant/Research Assistant.
