Bio
Ashley Cole joined American University in 2007 as an Assistant Director of Admissions. Ashley is responsible for recruiting and working with students in the NYC and Westchester areas of New York, and transfer students with last names beginning with 'D'. Ashley is involved in the National Association of College Admissions Counseling (NACAC), the New York State Association of College Admissions Counseling (NYSACAC) and the College Access Consortium of New York (CACNY). Prior to working at American University, Ashley worked at Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania. She is currently working on her doctoral degree in education at Northeastern University and is studying African American males who have/had incarcerated parents, yet persisted to college. Ashley will be presenting this topic at the International Leadership Association conference this fall in Spain. Ashley active presents a number of topics at conferences held by organizations such as the College Board and NACAC, and typically focuses on areas including diversity, mentoring, best practices in admissions, and retention.
