Alannah Johnson currently serves as the Staff Assistant and the Assistant to the Chair of the Department of Government, within the School of Public Affairs. She is responsible for scheduling, event planning, logistics, budgeting, and all faculty-related endeavors within the department.
Alannah joined the American University professional staff in July 2013 as the Dining Programs Coordinator with Housing and Dining Programs. Prior to assuming this role, Alannah worked as a student staff member in the department in various roles such as Resident Assistant, Desk Receptionist, Campus Host, and Conference Manager.
Originally from Providence, Rhode Island, Alannah graduated from AU with a bachelor's degree in International Studies from the School of International Service.
Alannah has a strong interest in politics, religion, peace and conflict resolution, social media, personality types, and The Walt Disney Company.
When she is not at work, Alannah can be found reading a book in the amphitheater, or reading a book on the steps of the Lincoln Monument, or just reading a book pretty much anywhere.
