Bio
Alisha Chanthinith joined the Center for Community Engagement & Service team in Fall 2014 after spending the six years being inspired by social justice work. It began with an alternative break trip to Thailand, and upon her return to U.S, she grew interested in domestic social issues and signed up to be an AmeriCorps NCCC member. During her time in AmeriCorps, Alisha traveled throughout the southwest supporting nonprofits, which included being a wildland firefighter, an aftercare program administrator with the Boys & Girls Club, and building homes for Habitat for Humanity in New Orleans. She then worked with Mile High United Way in Denver, CO. During those three years, she supported the Donor Relations team to raise over $36 million annually and oversaw the corporate volunteer strategies. In that role, Alisha found her love in connecting people to education issues and achieving solutions through service. Alisha moved to DC to work with SETH's Jumpstart DC team. There she worked with engaging college students in literacy interventions at pre-schools throughout DC.

Alisha focuses on One Day Service Events (like the MLK Day of Service), manages the Explore DC Service component, supports students who want to organize service projects, and oversees all operations within the office.
