Alyssa Poblete is a Doctoral Intern at the American University Counseling Center (AUCC) and a graduate student at George Washington University's Clinical Psychology PhD program in Washington, DC. Prior to joining AUCC, she gained experience at college counseling, hospital, and community mental health settings, providing therapy, assessments, consultations, and crisis intervention to a diverse range of clients. Her clinical style integrates a person-centered, multiculturally-informed foundation with third-wave cognitive behavioral (ACT, DBT) and relational techniques. Her areas of interest include issues of identity (both visible and invisible), relationship and family-of-origin concerns, mindfulness and acceptance-based therapies, and group therapy.
