- Jorge Maldonado (he/him/his) currently serves as First-Year Instructor & Advisor at American University. He joined AU in 2017 as an Academic Advisor with the College of Arts and Science. Prior to joining AU, Jorge served as a Residence Life Coordinator with the Office of Residence Life at the University of South Florida, where he assisted in the development and implementation of a Residential Curriculum. In this role, Jorge instructed the Leadership in Residential Communities course, which was charged with training student leaders on topics of academic engagement, interpersonal skills, wellness, and global citizenship. He is deeply passionate about diversity, equity, and inclusion work. Favorite life experience positions, Trio Upward Bound Tutor Counselor, Varsity High School soccer coach, and Faculty/Staff leader for the medical relief effort: Kerolle Initiative for Community Health, Sosúa, Dominican Republic.
