Melissa Turner is an adjunct faculty member in American University’s School of Education, Teaching, and Health, teaching courses in education policy and management. She currently works on education and disability policy and budget issues as a Program Examiner for the Office of Management and Budget. Prior to her role with OMB, Melissa worked at the US Department of Education’s Office of Special Education Programs, providing technical assistance and monitoring state special education programs to improve results for children with disabilities. She also has experience as a special education advocate for children with disabilities and their families.
