Bio
Minna primarily advises students in the School of Communication who are studying print or interactive journalism, film and media arts, and communication studies.

Minna is a former magazine writer and editor who spent a decade on the editorial staff of Smithsonian magazine and as a freelance writer for such publications as Utne Reader, Health, Washingtonian and Discovery Channel magazines. Though she occasionally considered storytelling through documentary filmmaking, she has instead surrounded herself with friends and associates—and now colleagues and students—who have gone that route.

As the founding director of an experiential education and service program in D.C., the creator of a mentoring program for communications professionals, and now, as a career advisor, Minna is devoted to helping individuals find their passion; identify and sell their strengths; and balance vision with pragmatism in setting and working toward career goals.
