Bio
Kelly Nolin serves as the Training Manager and oversees the Faculty Corner. She has thirteen years experience working in college and university settings--more than five of them here at AU. Her responsibilities include planning faculty development events (such as the Ann Ferren Teaching Conference), coordinating software training sessions, working with Blackboard, and managing the daily operations of the Faculty Corner. Kelly’s interest in distance learning, adult studies, and character development led her to pursue a doctoral degree in higher education, which she completed in the spring of 2002 at the University of Denver. She has done research regarding the use of the humanities in the character education of undergraduate students. Kelly’s academic background also includes a BA in literature and philosophy from the University of Redlands, Arabic instruction at the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center while in the army, and an MA in literature from Old Dominion University. Kelly has also served as an adjunct in the College Writing Program for the last three years. She loves teaching and discussing books with her students.
