Erica Diya Basu is an Adjunct Instructor in the School of Communication's Public Communication Division.
Erica has over two decades of experience as a seasoned communication professional in strategic, marketing and corporate communication, public diplomacy, and public affairs.
Her research interests converge at the intersection of Internet governance, public diplomacy, and strategic communication studies. Her PhD dissertation examined the role of civil society organizations in shaping privacy discourse and influencing data protection policy-making in India.
She holds a PhD in Communication Studies and a master’s degree in Strategic Communication from American University’s School of Communication and a bachelor’s degree in speech communication from the College of Wooster.
