Bio
Tyler Thom has served as the Resident Director for Hughes Hall since June of 2013. While Tyler may be new to AU, he has extensive experience working with students in residential communities across the country. Tyler served as the Resident Director for an Honors Hall at the University of Arizona in Tucson, as well as serving as the Resident Director for a traditional hall at the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire. Tyler currently oversees the six Resident Assistants (RAs) in Hughes Hall, as well as the three Program Associates (PAs) that work closely with students in the Public Health; Global Scholars; and Politics, Policy, & Law Three-Year Programs.

Tyler has an insatiable desire for traveling and adventures. He has visited 27 U.S. states, 13 of 31 States in Mexico, and even lived in three countries including Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and Mexico. Tyler’s adventures often include adrenaline, as he first went bungee jumping at the age of 11, and received his solo-skydiving license at the age of 23. Tyler draws from these experiences to help his students achieve their own dreams and goals while attending college.
