Bio
Don Markus is an adjunct professor of Journalism. He has been teaching in the SOC for the past seven years. A sportswriter for the Baltimore Sun since 1985, Markus has taught Sports Journalism since 2005, first in a team situation with Dr. Joseph Campbell and then solo since 2007. He also developed a second course, Sportswriting and Reporting, which he has taught the past five years. A native of Brooklyn, N.Y., Markus has also worked for several newspapers in the New York area, including The New York Post and Newsday, and has over the years contributed to Sports Illustrated, Sport Magazine, Golf Magazine, MSNBC.com and ESPN.com. He lives in North Potomac, Md. with his wife Judy. They have two sons, ages 23 and 18. Markus is an avid basketball player.
