Bio
Steve Piacente, an adjunct professor of Journalism, is a media and presentation trainer at The Communication Center in Washington, D.C., and the owner of Next Phase Life Coaching. Previously, he served as deputy communications director at the U.S. General Services Administration. Piacente joined GSA in 2002 after a 25-year career in print journalism. He was Washington Correspondent for two Southern newspapers, the Charleston (S.C.) Post and Courier, and, before that, The Tampa (Fla.) Tribune. Piacente graduated from American University’s School of Communication in 1976, and in 2000 earned a Masters in Fiction from Johns Hopkins University. He has published two novels, Bella and Bootlicker, with a third, Pretender, due out in March 2018. (www.stevepiacente.com).
