Research Interests

Dr. Rickershauser’s research focuses on the effects of campaigns and elections on people’s political knowledge, participation, voting behavior, and opinions. Her work includes analysis of candidate appearances during presidential elections, the political effects of Facebook, and political prediction markets. She is currently working on a number of projects, including an article on the effects of allegations of corruption in the 2006 congressional elections and a book manuscript that argues that the 2000 and 2004 campaigns were extremely similar in terms of voting behavior.
