The AU Gap Program aligns with the American University Academic Calendar.
Applicants must meet the minimum university requirements for undergraduate study (high school diploma) and possess a minimum of a 3.0 high school GPA. Admission decisions are based on each applicant's academic record, essays, recommendations, and motivations to have a Gap Program experience. Additionally, we assess other characteristics such as maturity, leadership, personal character and potential contribution to the American University community.
The fall and spring AU GAP program is open to U.S. students only.
