Texas is a 2 1/2-day exam with one 90-minute Multistate Performance Test question, one 90-minute Procedure and Evidence exam, 200 multiple-choice Multistate Bar Exam questions, and twelve 30-minute Texas Essay Exam questions.
Texas is UBE adopted and will administer its first UBE test in February 2021.
MBE Subjects: Constitutional Law, Contracts/Sales, Criminal Law/Procedure, Evidence, Federal Civil Procedure, Real Property, Torts.
Texas Essay Subjects: Bankruptcy, Business Associations (including Agency, Corporations, Limited Liability Companies, Partnerships, Professional Associations), Consumer Rights (including DTPA and Insurance), Family Law, Real Property (including Oil and Gas), Taxation (Income, Estate, Gift), Trusts and Guardianships, Uniform Commercial Code, Wills and Estate Administration. Additionally there is a short answer exam on Federal and TX Criminal Procedure and Evidence, TX Civil Procedure and Evidence including Jurisdiction.

Multistate Performance Test: "Closed universe" practical questions using instructions, factual data, cases, statutes and other reference material supplied by examiners.
MPRE: A scaled score of 85 is required for admission.
Scoring: The MBE is weighted 40%, the essay exam is weighted 40%, the MPT weighted 10%, and the Procedure and Evidence exam weighted 10%. The components are combined and a passing score is 675 out of 1000.
The UBE passing score will be 270.
Filing Deadlines: The deadline for applying to the February Bar Exam is September 1; late applications are accepted until November 1; extended late applications are accepted until December 1. The deadline for applying to the July Bar Exam is February 1; late applications are accepted until April 1; extended late applications are accepted until May 1. Law student registration is required.
Fees: Bar exam application fee: $320. Late fee: $150. Extended late fee: $300.
