Background Investigator Policy

American University Washington College of Law cannot provide official/unofficial documents of non-law students. Please contact the Office of the University Registrar and review their policy. 

American University Washington College of Law cannot send official/unofficial documents via email or fax. In-person appointments or DoD Safe are the only acceptable methods.

Verifying Investigator Credentials

All investigators must present credentials before receiving academic records. Please contact our office for further instructions. 

Directions to Our Office

  • Enter the Warren Building on 4300 Nebraska Ave NW and check in at the information desk. They will give you directions to our office (Suite C107)
  • Parking: Parking is at the garage on 4300 Nebraska Ave NW. There are machines in the elevator lobby to pay for parking and signs to pay via mobile app.
  • Directions from the Tenleytown Metro Stop: After exiting the metro station, take a right onto Wisconsin Ave. The law school will be on the right.
