SELA 2026 – Yale Law School Initiative on Constitutional Theory and Policy

The Center for Human Rights and Humanitarian Law is pleased to highlight the participation of Professor Eduardo Bertoni, Director of the Center, at SELA 2026, the Seminario en Latinoamérica de Teoría Constitucional y Política.

The Seminario en Latinoamérica de Teoría Constitucional y Política, the Seminar in Latin America on Constitutional and Political Theory, or SELA, as it has come to be known by its Spanish acronym, is an annual academic gathering which brings together scholars from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Ecuador, Jamaica, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Puerto Rico, Spain, and the United States.

Professor Bertoni presented “Human Rights & Technology: Content Regulation on Digital Platform and the Challenge of Freedom of Expression” as part of Session Law and Innovation.

His presentation reflects the Center’s continued engagement with regional and international debates concerning technology, freedom of expression, digital governance, privacy, neurotechnology, and human rights.

This work connects directly with the Center’s recent initiatives on human rights and technology, including Professor Bertoni’s participation in UN-related discussions on neurotechnology guidelines, Council of Europe work on data protection and neurotechnologies, and the 2026 Human Rights and Technology seminar at @au_wcl

At a time of increasing regulatory, constitutional, and democratic challenges generated by emerging technologies, the Center continues to promote legal dialogue grounded in human dignity, freedom of expression, and international human rights law.
