CECE's objective is to work with students, faculty, and community partners to chart a long-term vision and audacious roadmap for meeting the environmental challenges that lie ahead of our country and global community. We aim to catalyze scholarship and efforts that reach across disciplines to drive action and public impact.
Our Team
Dana R. Fisher
Director
Dana R. Fisher (she/her) is a Professor in the School of International Service. Her research focuses on questions related to democracy, civic engagement, activism, environmental stewardship, and climate politics. Current projects include studying political elites’ responses to climate change, the ways federal service corps programs in the US are integrating climate into their work, and on-ramps to activism and engagement around climate and systemic racism.
W. Chris Jayko
CECE Lab Program Manager
W. Chris Jayko (he/him) is the CECE Lab Program Manager. He has worked on many Climate related projects including the Climate Constituencies Project. He focuses his work on Climate Change and Energy Policy. He recently graduated from the University of Bern with a Masters in Climate Science. Previous to his master program, Chris worked for 5 years in municipal utilities and land development consultancy.
Kyra Jones
Operations Manager
Kyra Jones (she/her) is the Operations Manager for CECE, where she provides support to the team. She received her MA in Global Environmental Policy from the School of International Service. She is interested in the intersection of environmental issues and human health. Prior to coming to AU, she served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Rwanda.
Rachel Weiss
Multiscale RECIPES Program Manager
Rachel Weiss (she/her) is the Program Manager for Multiscale RECIPES for Sustainable Food Systems. Rachel also provides support to CECE. Her research interests include supply chain resiliency and sustainable sourcing. She received her MS in Sustainability Management from American University.
Quinn Renaghan
Research Assistant
Quinn Renaghan (he/him) is a research assistant at CECE and a sophomore studying engineering and sustainability at the University of Maryland.
