Learn Something New

Take time during the week to attend a virtual workshop and learn something new.

Monday, June 1
1:00 - 2:00p.m.

Homeownership is a goal shared by many, but buying a home can be a daunting process if you're not prepared.

Geared towards the first-time home buyer, a PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PwC)financial coach will walk you through the ins and outs of the home buying process so you'll have a roadmap to follow as you consider the purchase of your new home.

Wednesday, June 3
11:00a.m. - 12:00p.m.

COVID-19 has created unprecedented uncertainty for many of us. With all the news about the expanding footprint of the illness, job impacts, and a more volatile stock market than we’ve seen in a long time, deciding what to do with your finances can be tough. You’ve probably heard a lot of information about your investments. But what about everything else in your financial life?

In this webinar, a PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PwC)financial coach will focus on positive steps you can take today including:

  • Evaluating and managing immediate cash needs;
  • Working with creditors;
  • Managing investments;
  • Avoiding scams; and
  • Seeking out opportunities like refinancing, paying down debt, or Roth conversions.

You'll leave this session with actionable items that put you in control of your finances and set you up for long-term financial success.

Thursday, June 4
3:00 - 4:00p.m.

Balancing competing financial goals can be challenging at any stage in your career. When you’re starting out, you may be striving to build a secure financial foundation.

In this session, a PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PwC)financial coach will cover getting started with your retirement savings, building credit and managing your debt, and other key financial decisions you may be facing in your 20s and early 30s.

RESCHEDULED: Tuesday, June 16
11:00a.m. - 12:00p.m.

Regardless of your age or your income, reaching retirement goals requires the same things: spend less, save more. It's really that simple.

In this webinar, a PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PwC)financial coach will explain investment definitions and the differences between investment vehicles, to help you determine which would be appropriate for your financial goals and risk tolerance.

Tuesday, June 2
10:00a.m. - 4:00p.m.

Staff Council is pleased to announce its first ever virtual StaffCon 2020! For staff. With staff. By staff.

Tuesday, June 2
12:00 - 12:30p.m.

Join Stacey Marien and Sean Casey from the University Library as they cook up a good time and show you how to make a chocolate souffle.

Wednesday, June 3
1:00 - 2:00p.m.

With more time at home, many of us are enjoying working in our own home gardens.

AU Arboretum staff will host a Zoom discussion sharing design principles and maintenance techniques that you can use in your gardens. We will share our top ten favorite perennials and answer questions about AU's campus arboretum.

Please email your plant specific questions ahead of time so that we can answer them during our discussion.
