Join the School of International Service and American University’s Office of Campus Life & Inclusive Excellence for the next event in the Crucial Conversation series. This ongoing series of discussions is open to the entire AU Community. On March 5, AU President Sylvia Burwell will host a panel of prominent figures from government, media, academia, and the nonprofit sector to explore the experiences and challenges that shaped them.

  • Ibram Kendi, professor, Director of Antiracist Research and Policy Center, and National Book Award winner
  • Eric Liu, founder and CEO of Citizen University
  • Susan E. Rice, former National Security Advisor and US Ambassador to the United Nations
  • Maria Elena Salinas, broadcast journalist, host of “The Real Story with Maria Elena Salinas"
