Bio
Scott is an alumus of American University with an undergraduate degree in International Service and Masters in Secondary Education. Scott is an experienced educator who taught social studies and ESL in Washington, DC for ten years and has taught in public, public charter, private and international settings. Scott founded and directs a DC-based teacher leadership organization called EmpowerEd that focuses on improving teacher retention, especially among educators of color, and works to elevate diverse educator voices in policy making. Scott is originally from New Jersey, just outside of Philadelphia.
