Bio
Stacey Miles (she/her/hers) joined American University in June 2019 as the Coordinator, Academic Success Coaching. A major focus of her role is providing one-to-one academic success coaching for students to set and make plans to achieve academic goals. She received her Master’s and Bachelor’s degree from West Chester University of Pennsylvania. Stacey’s thesis work revolved around supporting first-generation college students, due to her experience and transition into college as a first-gen herself! She specifically looked at how to enhance student engagement and sense of belongingness for underserved and marginalized communities within the first year of college. Prior to joining AU, she served as a Graduate Assistant at West Chester University performing academic coaching with academically at-risk first-year student populations and students on academic probation. She is passionate about first-generation college students, student engagement, and student development. Stacey is a Philadelphia-suburbs native who loves all things sports (Go Eagles!). Outside of the office, you can find Stacey being a DC tourist, eating at local restaurants, grabbing coffee, or exploring the outdoors!
