American University Washington College of Law’s Program on Law and Government is celebrating its 34th year in our nation’s legislative and regulatory hub. We offer a broad array of curricular options, experiences, and events, from cutting edge courses taught by expert faculty, to our renowned Marshall-Brennan Constitutional Literacy Project, to symposia and panels featuring our talented alumni. Guide to pictures
Pictures 1 and 4: On February 10, 2026, the Program on Law & Government welcomed Danielle Sassoon, former Acting U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, for a conversation on professional responsibility and public service.
Pictures 2 and 5: On February 4, 2026, Judge David Tatel, retired from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, and his guide dog, Vixen, joined AUWCL students for a conversation about his life and work.

Washington College of Law The Oversight Project The program offers the country’s only student-edited blog covering the work of Federal government oversight and accountability institutions.
Washington College of Law The Marshall-Brennan Constitutional Literacy Project The Marshall-Brennan Constitutional Literacy Project is a nationally recognized law related education program that promotes democratic engagement, constitutional literacy, and legal advocacy.
Washington College of Law Senior Affiliates in Law and Government Senior Affiliates in Law and Government are recognized experts in their field who come to the law school to teach, mentor and advise students, and serve as a resource to faculty and alumni.
